Rokstone Underwriting Gains Regulatory Approval in DIFC
The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has granted Rokstone Underwriting, a specialized re/insurance managing general agent (MGA), a crucial regulatory license to commence operations in the DIFC.
The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), renowned for its autonomous legal framework and independent judiciary, stands as a premier financial hub across the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa (MENA). The acquisition of this license marks a significant milestone in Rokstone’s strategic expansion, as emphasized by the company.
The newly established office in Dubai will focus on broadening specialty risk solutions throughout the MENA region, leveraging the rapidly growing insurance market in the UAE.
James Potter, CEO at Rokstone, remarked, “We are thrilled to officially inaugurate our Dubai office, extending our MGA model to the MENA region. Dubai and the DIFC represent a thriving regional nexus, offering new distribution channels to regional markets. The area boasts a robust talent pool and serves as a well-connected transport hub for the region.”
He further added, “With its current favorable economic policies, substantial investment levels, and a rising demand for top-tier re/insurance underwriting, Dubai is an ideal location for an established yet agile MGA like Rokstone. Our expertise, technological integration, and disciplined approach provide substantial value to both brokers and carriers in the region.”
