Paul Wilson Takes On New Leadership Roles at Argenta
Argenta has announced the appointment of Paul Wilson as the Deputy Chair of Argenta Syndicate Management Limited, a prominent Lloyd’s managing agency. In addition, Wilson will serve as a Non-Executive Director of Argenta Holdings Ltd (AHL), pending regulatory approval.
With more than 35 years of experience in the industry, Wilson brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership expertise. He previously held senior roles at Bain & Company in London, where he led the Financial Services Practice and played an instrumental role in the restructuring of the Lloyd’s market.
Wilson’s broad expertise encompasses governance, strategic leadership, and fostering growth in global organizations. His portfolio of experience includes serving as a non-executive director for major companies such as AXA XL UK, AXA XL Dublin, RJ Kiln, Brewin Dolphin, and Unigestion. Beyond the business realm, Wilson is also the chair of the Board of Trustees for Action Against Hunger, an international charity dedicated to combating child malnutrition across 55 countries.
Wilson will succeed John Whiter, who is set to resign as Chair of ASML on July 1st, 2025, after a commendable 16-year tenure. Under Whiter’s leadership, ASML has notably expanded its underwriting capacities, with Syndicate 2121 and SPA 6134 currently managing £800 million and £133 million in underwriting capacity, respectively.
Whiter was also pivotal in Argenta’s 2017 acquisition by Hannover Re, reinforcing the company’s long-term stability within one of the world’s largest reinsurers.
Nick Moore, Chief Executive Officer of Argenta Group, stated, “Paul’s appointment underscores our dedication to building a robust leadership team to advance Argenta’s strategic initiatives. With his extensive experience in financial services and a proven ability in governance, strategy, and growth, Paul is well-prepared to guide ASML through its next chapter.”
Moore further added, “On behalf of the entire organization, I extend heartfelt thanks to John Whiter for his exceptional leadership and commitment. His contributions have been instrumental in shaping Argenta’s success, and we are profoundly grateful for his enduring impact.”
