Aon Expands its Presence in Japan with Strategic Acquisition
Global insurance and reinsurance broker, Aon, has successfully completed its acquisition of the in-house insurance agency business from Mitsubishi Chemical Group (MCG) as of March 1, 2025. This move marks a significant step in Aon’s strategy to enhance its footprint in the Japanese market.
The acquired business was previously part of Dia Rix, the comprehensive business services provider for MCG group companies. Post-acquisition, Aon is set to deliver a wide range of corporate and personal insurance solutions to both MCG group companies and their employees across Japan.
This acquisition is strategically aligned to bolster Aon’s Risk Capital and Human Capital capabilities within the region. With the integration of the new team, Aon welcomes an additional 100 colleagues, creating a formidable team of over 400 professionals dedicated to serving clients, under the leadership of Tatsuya Yamamoto, Head of Japan at Aon.
