Miller Expands with New M&A and Strategic Solutions Team
Miller, a leading independent specialist re/insurance broker, is thrilled to announce the formation of its new M&A and Strategic Solutions (MASS) team, bringing on board three esteemed professionals to spearhead this initiative.
The newly constituted team will be helmed by the seasoned experts Andrew Johnson and Edwina Charlton, who both offer a wealth of experience in the realms of M&A and insurance.
Joining them is Rupert Newman, appointed as the Head of Broking for the MASS team, further reinforcing the team’s robust capabilities.
The MASS team is tasked with overseeing transactional risk insurance, while simultaneously developing niche practices in tax and contingent risk. Their goal is to create a leading full-service team outside of North America.
Beyond his leadership responsibilities, Andrew Johnson will also collaborate with other segments of Miller to propel growth initiatives.
Both Johnson and Charlton possess a combined two decades of experience in M&A law, having started their careers in major hubs like London and Asia. Their transition into the insurance sector with Marsh has significantly enriched their domain expertise. Rupert’s extensive broking background completes the team’s impressive skill set.
Operating under Miller’s Professional & Financial Risks division, the MASS team will be based in London, catering to a diverse clientele that includes private equity firms, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds, corporates, law firms, and corporate financiers. They are dedicated to offering bespoke advice on both domestic and international risks across all industry sectors.
Laura McDonough, Head of Professional and Financial Risks at Miller, commented: “We are extremely excited to welcome Andrew, Edwina, and Rupert to Miller. The inception of MASS is a direct response to the growing pace and volume of deal activity and the expansion of tax and contingent risk insurance in the global market. We are thrilled to leverage their technical expertise, energy, and stellar reputation to build a top-tier capability for the financial services community.”
With support from colleagues in the Asia Pacific region and several recent team hires in London, MASS is poised to significantly enhance the stature of Miller’s expanding professional and financial risks proposition.
