Tom Meyer Appointed Head of Specialty Division at Lockton Re
Lockton Re, the reinsurance arm of the independent insurance broker Lockton, has announced the appointment of Tom Meyer as the new Head of the Specialty Division in London. This appointment comes as Paul Upton transitions to the role of Chairman for the unit.
Since 2023, Meyer has been the Managing Director of Specialty at Gallagher Re. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at Chord Re, having initially joined the organization in 2017 as Chief Underwriting Officer. His extensive experience encompasses leading Aspen Re’s specialty lines and its Bermuda operations, alongside roles at Allianz Re and Wills Re.
Meyer brings a wealth of market experience in reinsurance underwriting and broking, along with a comprehensive understanding of cross-class specialty areas and management expertise. On his new role, Meyer commented, “I am incredibly excited about the opportunity at Lockton Re and the caliber of my new colleagues, who are known for being instrumental partners to clients in numerous niche and complex specialty sectors.
