Hamilton Global Specialty Announces Senior Underwriting Leadership
Hamilton Global Specialty, a distinguished underwriting platform operating under the Bermuda-based Hamilton Insurance Group, has announced significant leadership appointments in its underwriting team. The company has appointed Mike Thorp as the new Head of Space and Chris Golder as the Head of Treaty.
In their elevated roles, Thorp will report directly to Sinead Cormican, Deputy Active Underwriter at Syndicate 4000. Meanwhile, Golder will report to Miles Osorio, the Active Underwriter for the same syndicate. These strategic appointments underscore Hamilton’s dedication to nurturing internal talent and ensuring effective succession planning to align with its business objectives.
Adrian Daws, the Chief Executive Officer of Hamilton Global Specialty, expressed his satisfaction, stating, “We are delighted to witness Mike and Chris stepping into these pivotal roles. Their promotions are not only well-earned but also reflect our commitment to cultivating leaders capable of steering Hamilton towards a promising future.”
Thorp, who has been with Hamilton since September 2015, played a pivotal role in launching the space program that same year, contributing significantly to its growth over the past nine years. He brings with him 24 years of expertise in technical and underwriting fields. On the other hand, Golder, who joined the Hamilton Treaty Insurance team in February 2023, boasts 16 years of industry experience, including a decade dedicated to underwriting.
