Marsh Announces Leadership Changes with Andrew George as President of Marsh Specialty
Global insurance broker Marsh has unveiled a significant leadership update by appointing Andrew George as the President of Marsh Specialty, a role he assumes with immediate effect. Based in London, he will report directly to Martin South, the President and CEO of Marsh. George will oversee Marsh Specialty’s worldwide operations, which encompass diverse practices including Aviation, Climate & Sustainability, Construction, Credit Specialties, Energy & Power, Financial and Professional Lines (FINPRO) – with a focus on Cyber, Marine & Cargo, as well as Private Equity, Mergers and Acquisitions (PEMA).
In a related move, John Donnelly, who serves as President of Global Placement, will now also report to South. He is set to relocate from London to New York in the forthcoming months. Both George and Donnelly will join the Marsh Executive Committee, reinforcing the company’s leadership at a global level.
With an impressive tenure starting in 1988, George brings over 35 years of leadership expertise to his new position. Previously based in Dubai, he led Marsh’s Energy Practice across the Middle East and North Africa starting in 2004. In 2008, he returned to London to become the CEO of Marsh’s Energy Practice for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. By 2012, he was appointed as the Global Chairman of Marsh’s Energy Practice, which was expanded in 2015 to encompass the Energy & Power Practice.
