Ryan Specialty Introduces National Programs
Global insurance provider Ryan Specialty has unveiled a new initiative, Ryan Specialty National Programs, situated within their underwriting managers division, Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM). This strategic move is aimed at enhancing the focus on specialized, class-specific package business, available on both admitted and non-admitted platforms.
The new group will be led by CEO Shawn Yingling, who brings over three decades of expertise in program development and executive leadership to Ryan Specialty, having joined the company in 2024. The National Programs initiative is set to launch with a robust scope and scale, integrating business units from Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers such as the Irwin Siegel Agency, SUITELIFE Underwriting Managers, and programs acquired from the 2020 All Risks, Ltd. transaction.
Irwin Siegel focuses on providing insurance solutions for human and social service organizations, SUITELIFE caters to hotels, boutiques, resorts, and hotel management companies, while the legacy National Programs cover a broad spectrum of niche industries, including property, casualty, and workers’ compensation.
Commenting on the consolidation, Miles Wuller, Global CEO of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers, emphasized, “We believe that bringing these units under one operational and leadership platform will enhance focus, improve efficiency, and spur innovation in the niche specialty package program segment.”
Regarding Shawn Yingling’s appointment, Eric Quinn, President of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers, remarked, “Shawn is a seasoned executive with a distinguished track record in managing and overseeing specialty program business. His extensive experience in underwriting, product development, and distribution makes him a powerful asset, driving exceptional results for our capital providers and fostering new product innovation for our clients. We are thrilled to have Shawn steering this platform forward.”
